Beach Hut Owners Guide 2025

PLEASE READ

Update on the Beach Hut sale process from Canterbury City Council

CCC will no longer be issuing new tenancies to any new beach hut tenants. The previous tenant’s tenancy will become the new tenants tenancy on transfer.

When CCC return the countersigned Licence to Assign and unsigned Notice of Assignment, they request that both documents are passed to the purchaser by the vendor/association/agent with a copy of the Beach Hut Tenancy Agreement.

It is imperative that the tenancy agreement is given to the new tenants as CCC will not issue a new tenancy; their legal department have advised them that the previous tenancy is sufficient.

This is effective from 1^st May 2025

The Council’s web pages are currently being updated to reflect this.
